Brewery

We produce five unique beers under the distinctive Moo Brew label: an American Pale Ale, a Belgian Pale Ale, an American Dark Ale, a German-style cloudy wheat beer, and a Pilsner. They are available on tap at selected establishments and in bottles, shipped cold because Moo Brew contains no preservatives and is not pasteurised. We also create an Imperial Stout each year.
Brewer

Moo Brew's brewing team, lead by Owen Johnston, skilfully blends large quantities of luck with just a pinch of learning from past mistakes to achieve the highest standards in hand-crafted Tasmanian produce.
Pilsner

Pilsner
Noble hop aroma and delicate malt flavour. Departs from tradition,
in that it uses only German Spalt hops to achieve its unique aroma
and lingering bitterness.
Hefeweizen

Hefeweizen
Inspired by the classic Bavarian wheat beer. Naturally cloudy with
a vibrant yellow colour and strong foam head. The flavour and aroma
is based on yeast-derived banana and clove, with a hint of
vanilla.
BELGO

Belgo
A light Belgian Pale Ale blended with an American Pal Ale hopping
regime. Light bodied, finishing dry and presenting with a bright
copper colour. A delicately textured malt background balances the
Belgian yeast tartness and snappy hop bitterness.
Pale Ale

Pale Ale
American style; the ultimate microbrewery beer. Traditional Pale
Ale styles are fused together to give a pungent floral and citrus
aroma, with a complex malt palette and pleasant late
bitterness.
Dark Ale

Dark Ale
Pays homage to the American Brown Ale. Dark, with a deep,
cherry-red hue. Caramel and chocolate on the palette, with a
lightly roasted finish. Hop bitterness and aromatic character are
balanced, and pleasantly textured.
Imperial Stout

Imperial Stout
Made to showcase rich, dark chocolate obtained through the use of
specialty malts. Roast and astringent characteristics are balanced
and restrained.
Labels

Our labels were designed by Australian artist John Kelly. On them, he rails against the apparent corporatisation of art by the Australian Arts Council: their logo shows an image of the sun and a kangaroo, which the coun- cil insists must never be altered or separated. Here Kelly has embedded the images in an art context. Of particular interest is Alien (Skull), which redefined the Sidney Nolan masterpiece The boy and the moon (also known as Moonboy), using the sun and the ears of the kangaroo from the council logo. Sucked in.
