A suite of $100k grants awarded to three female-identifying artists, to support their creation of an ambitious new work.

Named for the late Katthy Cavaliere, an artist with a lifelong project of packing, storing and transporting the wreckage of her personal possessions and transforming it into art—a private life made public, where readymade things acquire an aura of love and trauma, and comprise a portrait of the artist (we hosted a retrospective of her work here at Mona a few years back).

Suspended Moment is made possible by the Estate of Katthy Cavaliere in partnership with Carriageworks, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, and us. Each institution will present one of the three winning commissions in 2020.

Entries have now closed. Winners announced soon.
