The dead do tell tales.

Set within the historic Penitentiary Chapel and projected high onto its walls, this immersive audiovisual experience tells the true stories of those convicts who lived and died in Van Dieman’s Land (as Tasmania was formerly known). Between 1803 and 1853, 75000 convicts arrived in Van Diemen’s Land. The Penitentiary Chapel, shortened by inmates to ‘the Tench’, was the dark heart of the convict system in Tasmania.
