Faro Bar + Restaurant

Mux video placeholder image

Art, eats, drinks

Bit of an experiment: a cavernous, light-drenched bar / restaurant built into the museum and suspended over the river.

Creative cuisine, James Turrell artworks close to hand, the possibility of someone playing an oud, extremely large windows, and so on. A la carte or four-course tasting menu for lunch; we take the wheel for dinner. Paired drinkies also available

Bookings recommended for lunch, required for dinner. Sample menu here. Email bookings@mona.net.au if you'd like a group booking of 7 or more people.

FAQs

What's all this about music and performance?

Faro is a dining experience that features art, live music, and performance. It’s loud, mostly harmless fun. You may be asked to help someone play a bass, but you're free to refuse.

Do I need to book?

We recommend you book to avoid disappointment. Bookings open 28 days in advance.

Why can I only book 28 days in advance?

Mona's a busy place—sometimes we need a restaurant at short notice to host a swank wine tasting or pie-eating competition—so our booking window needs to be a little shorter.

I have dietary requirements, can you accommodate?

Because the guy who owns the place is vegetarian, our food tends to be vegetarian (or vegan), or use sustainably-sourced meat. If you have other dietaries, let us know when booking. If you have questions about allergens, contact Bookings and Enquiries directly.

Can I change my booking date?

Yes, subject to availability. Contact our Bookings & Enquiries team on +61 (3) 6277 9978 or tickets@mona.net.au ahead of time.

How long should I allow to visit Mona?

You could probably speed through everything in three or four hours, but we recommend you hang around—make a day of it.

Do you accept cash?

Nope. Mona is cashless.
