You could probably speed through everything in three or four hours, but if you're lunching on site or doing other things (art rides, sipping wine) while you're here, we recommend you make a day of it.

Art can sometimes be confronting. Download the O for warnings during your visit. Outside of the art, you can get both chips and ice cream on the lawns. We've got a big Tom Otterness sculpture and a trampoline-based artwork, too.

Parking is limited, book the ferry. Also, don't bring your boat / caravan as we don't have room.

Yes—parking is limited, so we recommend it. Approaching the museum by water is also built into David's design for the place. Book the ferry here.

If you need first aid anywhere on site or in the museum, talk to the nearest staff member.

Please cloak all large items and umbrellas.

There are several charging locations around Mona, including the box office on the tennis court and information desk inside the museum (hand in your device to get charged, get a tag for it and collect it later). There are also charging lockers in the Ether building. All charging options are free.

We have a quiet, private space for parents on level B3 of the museum. Speak to gallery staff for access.

Change tables are located in most accessible toilets on site. If you're in the museum: next to the museum entrance; and on B3, next to the Void Bar (close to the main lift); and in the Round House. Outside the museum: in the Moorilla Wine Bar and Ether Building. Ask staff for directions.

Strobe lighting and loud audio operate in some galleries. Use the map on the O to avoid these parts of the museum or speak with staff about which artworks to avoid.

The museum is mostly underground. Be aware if you don't like confined spaces and low lighting. Speak to staff if you need assistance.

Yes. Just no tripods, flashes, or professional photography. Tag us with #monamuseum and @monamuseum.

Service animals are welcome. Other animals are not allowed anywhere at Mona or on the grounds, for a lot of very good reasons.

We accept photo ID with a Tasmanian address. If you don't have that, a Tassie utility bill with photo ID. Contact Bookings & Enquiries if you have any other questions.

Your timed entry ticket grants you entry within the hour marked on it. If you're unsure when you'll be arriving, grab a wildcard ticket.

A wildcard ticket has no allocated entry time. Just show up when you like and join the queue to get in.

You can change your ferry times via your mobile tickets—which you can find in the O—just hit the ‘change times’ button. Changes are subject to capacity and not being too close to your departure time.
