TASMANIANS

It's still free to get in to the museum. But there’s a catch. You have to pre-book your trip and pay a deposit; if you show up, you can get your deposit back. We are restricted with numbers so we can’t have people booking and then not showing up. If you do that, the cost is $5 and a lifetime of shame.

The deposit is $5, adults and concession only. No deposit for under 18s (but booking still required).

After your visit, you will receive an email wherein you can choose to have your $5 refunded, or leave it with Daddy Walsh and he’ll pop it straight on the doggies.

EVERYONE ELSE

For everyone else, museum entry is $38 for adults, $32 concession, $15 for under 18s and free for under 12s.

You can book timed museum entry or if you can’t commit to a time, book a wildcard instead. Wildcard entry is subject to capacity.

Under 18s are free, but will still need to book a timed or wildcard ticket.

GROUNDS ONLY

Free for everyone (no booking required). Art on the lawns and museum plaza, plus outdoor eating and drinking, plus live music daily. Plus plus. Does not include museum entry.

Ferry

Our high-speed catamarans sail between Hobart’s Brooke Street Pier and Mona often, and take around twenty-five minutes one way. Please phone Ticket Support if you’d like to make a booking for a passenger under four.

If travelling on the ferry, there are 99 steps upon arrival at Mona. There’s an accessible entrance via tunnel if you need it. Just make yourself known to staff onboard. But David says you have to take the stairs if you’re able.
