Ryoji Ikeda

Taken from atop kunanyi or Mount Wellington, a tall beaming tower of blue white light stretches from within a golden sea of the lights of Hobart high up into the night's sky. The sky is dotted all over with starlight.

A city upon a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
—Matthew 5:14

A great pillar of light reaching fifteen kilometres into the night sky. We usually switch it on for the winter and summer solstices.

P.S. It’s lights out for now, but spectra will return.
